Anonymous hacks the NZ government

Anonymous takes down 13 National Party websites

The internet hacking group 'Anonymous NZ' says it's taken a dozen National Party websites offline, in protest at the GCSB legislation.

A video uploaded by the group, to the Socialist Aotearoa blog, is critical of the government for its stance on the bill.

While a number of National Party websites remain active this morning, some are down, including johnkey.co.nz and billenglish.co.nz.

Anonymous NZ says it won't restore the websites until the GCSB bill is withdrawn, and an apology is made to Kim Dotcom and all New Zealanders

Dear Anonymous NZ, hacking National Party websites is just giving John Key a new excuse to pass the bill (cybercrime). Please stop it.
