Breaking down today's major events

Three steps on the road to war

Seemorerocks

I am somewhat used to double whammies. But today was a triple whammy. We have been on a slippery road to war for some time but today represented a giant leap.

Firstly, we had the news that Trump has sacked Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson and replaced him with the director of the CIA , Mike Pompeo.

If Trump was already an 'unappetising' and boorish man (in the unforgettable words of James Howard Kunstler he has now taken the 'dignity of office' down a peg or two by announcing the move on Twitter.

Mike Pompeo, Director of the CIA, will become our new Secretary of State. He will do a fantastic job! Thank you to Rex Tillerson for his service! Gina Haspel will become the new Director of the CIA, and the first woman so chosen. Congratulations to all!

Here is how the Washington Post reported on the news:

Trump ousts Tillerson, will replace him as secretary of state with CIA chief Pompeo

‘US-Russia relations may get a lot worse with Pompeo as Secretary of State’
President Trump said Tuesday he has ousted Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and plans to nominate CIA Director Mike Pompeo to replace him as the nation’s top diplomat, orchestrating a major change to his national security team amid delicate outreach that includes possible talks with North Korea.

It is interesting to see the absolute inability of someone like Alex Jones who normally can't keep his mouth shut to comment on this. They will have to work hard to rationalise this because there is no clearer indication that Trump has been captured by the Deep State (or he was like this from the beginning - that is a matter of conjecture)

Jake Morphonious came out and expressed what have been my thoughts all morning- that the Deep State has captured all the positions of power

Trump Fires Tillerson to Put CIA In Charge of State Dept - Globalists Rejoice!

We now have a secretary of State somewhat in the traditional mode replaced by a member of the Deep State. This is bad, bad news for whistleblowers such as Julian Assange (forget the rubbish that has been fed to us by Dr.Corsi), terrible news for Iran and also for the already terrible relations with Russia.

There are signs that te Deep State does not exactly mind the change.
For a start this message has been repeated several times across the media. Evididently Tyrannus Rex was too much the diplomat and insufficiently the war monger.

The Worst Secretary of State in Living Memory
Rex Tillerson’s successor will inherit the monumental task of cleaning up the mess he’s made of the State Department.
Perhaps this article from the UK Independent indicates that after a year or more of hostility there is a slow change-of-heart, probably because Trump is doing the bidding of the Deep State.

Whisper it, but maybe Trump isn’t that bad after all

And then there's the question of Pompeo's raplacement as head of the CIA. Trump's nomination, Gina Haspell was so anonymous RT couldn't find a photo of her. Turns out she was head of a dark site in Thailand where she oversaw torture and then removed the proof. Since then she has remained fairly anonymous.

It seems that there is no objection to having such as person in charge of the CIA.

In fact ex-head of the NSA thinks she’s the right person for the job!

In terms of the US administration this is about the worst news we could receive.

I think we can kiss any illusions about Qanon and ‘draining the swamp’.If he wasn’t before Trump is now, well and truly a swamp creature.

There are factions within the Deep State and it may be that Pompeo who reportedly hates Hillary Clinton, especially as she is history as this video from yesterday implies.

Of what use is a possible move against Clinton and her cronies if it leaves the neo-cons and the warmongers in power. We are in a situation that is ACTUALLY no better than if Hillary Clinton had won the 2016 election.

The Deep State, the Cabal, the neo-cons (whichever descriptor you wish to use) has WON,

That means a slide into war with Russia

THERESA MAY'S ULTIMATUM AGAINST RUSSIA

In Britain we a have a case that first came the crime, then came the guilty verdict to be followed by the 'evidence' - of which there really isn't.

What we have is an official conspiracy theory.

Seeing we don't have any direct prima facae evidence we are left with motive and opportunity.

It has been asked numerous times why Vladimir Putin would,in the midst of a presidential election bother to knock off a minor traitor who has been living quietly in Britain for ten years and whose daughter visits him regularly from Moscow. Not only  that but leave all the traces for the British police to find?

Who had the opportunity?

It is strange that there is a chemical weapons factory just 8 miles down the road from Salisbury. There are motives aplenty why the intelligence community in Britain wanted to have an inconvenient resident out of the way.

The question of Skripal's relationship with Christopher Steel of the Trump Dossier fame has already been raised and Mark Sleboda has said he would want to keep the Ukraine's SBU in his crosshairs.

There are lots of conspiracy theories that are more credible than the official theory (verdict).

Whatever the truth this is all plainly aimed at Putin and Russia at a sensitive time.

Here is what Sergei Lavrov had to say:

And a very good report from Russia's Vesti news program.

Russia’s Ambassador Summoned by UK MFA to be Interrogated About the Salisbury Poisoning

And a not unfair conclusion by an ex-FSB head:

UK intelligence may be complicit in Skripal’s poisoning – ex-FSB head

As the clock ticks down who knows what Britain and their overlords, the Americans, have in mind. It may be more of the same (more failed sanctions, kicking out some diplomats or a boycott of the World Cup, due to be held in Russia.

Or, as this article suggests, might Britain evoke the NATO agreement and claim they are under attack?

The clock is ticking towards the British-set deadline of midnight Tuesday for the Kremlin to explain why a Russian developed military-grade nerve agent was used to poison a former Russian double agent and his daughter in a small cathedral town in south England.

No one in the British government is holding their breath for a Russian response — or an adequate one, from London’s point of view.

And as the deadline looms British officials are scrambling to garner the support of Western allies, and they appear ready, if necessary, to invoke NATO’s Article 5 on collective defense, which has only been invoked once before in the Western alliance’s 59-year history.

Or banning the activities of RT in Britain?

Labour MPs could be banned from appearing on Moscow-backed network RT in wake of nerve agent attack

That would, no doubt bring a swift reaction..

No British outlet will work in Russia if London shuts down RT - Foreign Ministry

No British outlet will work in Russia if London shuts down RT - Foreign Ministry

Not a single British media outlet will be working in Russia if London decides to shut down RT broadcasting in the UK, Maria Zakharova, Russia’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, said.

I can tell you right now that not a single British media outlet will be working in our country if they shut RT down,” Zakharova told Rossiya1 channel.

RUSSIA'S RESPONSE TO AMERICA'S THREAT TO SYRIA AND HER ALLIES

In recent days the Americans, who have troops completely illegally based on Syrian territory have threatened to strike Syrian forces involved in the liberation of East Ghouta.

Breaking: Russia vows to respond if forces in Syria threatened by US strikes, knows US is planning false-flag chemical attack

Moments ago, the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) released an official statement saying that the Russian military would respond to any US aggression that threatened its forces in Syria.

The statement more specifically eluded to a possible US strike against Syrian government targets in Damascus where Russian forces have a presence.

Moscow is convinced that the US plans to use proxy elements in Syria to carry out a false flag chemical weapons attack that will be blamed on the Syrian Armed Forces and used as a pretext for military action.

The consequences of a new US strike on Syria, the possibility of which was stated in the UN Security Council by United States Permanent Representative Nikki Haley, will be very serious, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Tuesday according to TASS.

If a new strike of this kind takes place, the consequences will be very serious,” Russia’s top diplomat stressed.

Mrs. Haley should understand that it is one thing to irresponsibly exploit the microphone in the UN Security Council and it is another thing when both the Russian and American militaries have communication channels and it is clearly stated via these channels what can be done and what must not be done,” Lavrov said.

The US-led coalition knows well about that,” the Russian foreign minister said.

This has brought a fierce and completely reasonable response from the Russians.

At this time when the conflict between the Empire and Russia and her allies is reaching fever pitch then this a very worryng development.

Will it die down? Absent some form of back-down or compromise I doubt it very much.

Only time will tell.
